Canon PowerShot A460 Camera: Review

After the Canon Powershot A450, the maker of digital cameras has recently launched a new model, the Canon Powershot A460. The processor ensures high-speed performance, better color rendition and cleaner images, while iSAPS technology analyzes each scene to optimize camera settings even before a shot. To highlight, then, the function Super macro that allows you to get close up to 1 cm from the subject.

As for the features of this camera, there are no more innovative ones such as Face Detection Technology and Motion Detection, available instead on the newer models. The camera also does not have either of the image stabilizer. For the rest, the sensitivity is not very high but is around 80 to 400 ISO, shutter speeds ranging from 15 to 1/2000 seconds and the flash allows a maximum range of 3 meters.

Canon PowerShot A460 has 12 shooting modes that allow you to get that perfect shot in any circumstance, 8 mode “Special Scene”, which help in tricky lighting conditions, and My Colors, instead, allows you to apply special color effects to images and movies. For direct printing, then, simply connect the camera to a PictBridge printer and press the Share button.

The camera, finally, you can also capture VGA movies with sound, up to a maximum resolution of 640×480 pixels and up to 10 frames per second. As regards, next, the storage of photos and videos, the camera is equipped with a memory card of 16 MB, but you should buy more capacious, choosing from the Secure Digital, SDHC memory card or MultiMediaCard (MMC).

As for autonomy, the camera is powered by two alkaline batteries, which provide up to 120 shots and 540 minutes of playback, a value that changes depending upon the type of batteries used. The connection on the computer and the TV is via USB cable and audio / video cable.

Conclusion

The Canon PowerShot A460 is a camera of average quality, out of a year and a half proves backward compared to most of the newer models, but can be useful if you want a machine that takes pictures discrete and easily. The sensor is only 5 MP, does not have a stabilizer and all the other advanced features, but at least has a 4x optical zoom, and slightly above average and the viewfinder has disappeared from the compact. Great price.
