The Garmin Zumo 220 is one of the latest Garmin navigators compact dedicated to riders come to the market. The device has many advanced features, including: Bluetooth, Lane Assistant, Fotonavigazione and Waterproofing.

The sizes of the browser are fairly small and equal to 10.7 x 8.5 x 2.3 cm and weighs about 215 grams. The QVGA display has a diagonal of 3.5 inches with a resolution of 320×240 pixels. The most interesting feature that will surely intrigue many motorcyclists resides in the battery life of 8 hours of operation, in addition to the presence of a high-sensitivity receiver.

Garmin Zumo 220: Design

The Garmin Zumo 220‘s design is rather simple and essential, in line with previous navigators of the series. Perhaps Garmin could work better aesthetics but this line is perfectly suited for the type of navigation for which it was conceived, though personally, I would have preferred the slightly reduced in size as well as weight. The TFT display has an ideal size and equal to 3.5 inches with a resolution QVGA anti-glare with white backlight.

Garmin Zumo 220: Features and Functionality

The Garmin Zumo 220 is a compact navigation system designed for riders, and with built-in Bluetooth. The navigator has a TFT touch screen QVGA 3.5-inch color screen with anti-reflection white backlight with a resolution of 320×240 pixels that will display the correct path to follow through a simple and intuitive interface visible in all weather conditions and regardless of the light environmental. Garmin Zumo 220

The device has been designed for bikers by bikers (like Garmin quotes) and you see absolutely. The device is suitable for road and off-road navigation with map’s City Navigator NT Europe (full coverage) preloaded with millions of POIs. The navigator is obviously equipped with a voice guide with pronunciation of street names who can be heard clearly along with the helmet via Bluetooth’s connectivity on the browser with the same technology.

On the navigation, screen is also a digital fuel gauge that allows an accurate and continuous control of kilometers traveled and beyond. A very interesting Features that allows you to review via Google Earth the path, and the journey supported. The navigator has a microSD card for easy sharing of content (thanks to Garmin Connect) and an easy upload of maps also different from those pre-loaded and stored in solid-state memory of your navigation device. The device is also compatible with the traffic information but only if you purchased the FM receiver who unfortunately is sold separately.

One of the main features of the navigator is the battery life of up to 8 hours, in addition to the presence in the sales package of the additional brackets that will allow the use of the Garmin Zumo 220 also on a car, helping to make this device complete and user-friendly although at a price not exactly popular.

Conclusion

The Garmin Zumo 220 is a browser designed and manufactured for use thanks to the waterproof motorcycle which is fitted (IPX7). The device is very solid and sturdy and comes with Bluetooth’s connectivity, especially if the people using it has a helmet with such a connectivity.

Excellent sales package which also includes a mounting system that will make the browser compatible with a car. Unfortunately, the package does not have a microSD which must be purchased separately (if needed). The navigator is a great tool for navigating a motorcycle road and off-road, despite not having a price that can be called popular.
